They're going to be so proud.
The kids went back to school today after being home for the summer and I was left in the house alone. The squirrels, well aware of the fact that I can't unlock the door and leave the house, hung around the back yard all day, mocking me. That's ok, though because I was busy most of the day trying to neutralize the threat that the family calls, "The Sofa". The sofa is much larger than I am and at first appeared to be a formidable enemy. But as it turns out, its slow-moving nature renders it basically defenseless. I attacked it with the grace and precision of a Samurai, going right for the part that gives it its strength, the stuffing. I ripped open it's outer skin and removed most of the fluffy white stuff in an attempt to bring it down, but it just sat there, seemingly oblivious to its wounds. Obviously, it's going to require repeated strikes, but I'm sure my people will be quite proud of me just for the work I've done. I can't wait until they return home. I'm going to get a puppy treat for sure.
